Zine culture arose from the advent of the photocopier and the spirit of anarcho-punk and DIY culture.
In conjunction with Out@AUT and Auckland Libraries, AUT’s Art + Design Queer Reading Group, led by Richard Orjis, will run free a workshop that explores this dynamic, low-fi, low-cost mode of publication.
Assembling text and image together, we will use the provocation, ‘what is queer ecology?’ to generate individual or collaborative creative responses in a fun and open-ended way. Poetry, prose, fragmented thought, found imagery, recorded movement, collage and drawing will all be welcome.
The final zine will be bound together in print and available online.
